I cant find anything the the bluez stack's
hcitool
running on GNU/Linux for my MacOSX10.3... anybody aware of a command line tool which may scann the bluetooth sky on a macosx??

UPDATE: some downloads later I discovered a bluetooth scanner in iStumbler, which is available as source code under a BSD license. So the only thing left is to extract the Objective-C parts of iStumbler and build a commandline tool out of it :)
