managing information about locations
… or is this called locative information? Anyway, the problem that I would like to solve is, to manage information about meeting facilities, where they are, what is available at the facility etc. This information should be reusable in other applications, which means the information should be represented by RDF/XML, most pragmatic approach is the implement the whole system as a WordPress extension (plugin, whatever).
Based on the GeoInfo Wiki a short review of RDF vocabularies available for describing Locations has lead to some ressources:
- Recommended Vocabularies for Locative Packets
- to get a grip on the equipment available at the location we could use the Wirless Vocabulary
- Some very good examples give an impression of how the RDF/XML data could look like
- Transportation Information to and from the meeting location should also be managed, including the nearest airport information
- using all this data and the travel itinerary ontology meeting attendee could document their travels
Other useful information could be in the SWAD-Europe Deliverable 3.9. Some information was provided by CaptSolo :)
