Who has stolen my DNS?

Maybe the US Department of Commerce or they have stopped operating the root name server… nobody knows. Anyways, in the unlikely event of the unavailability of the ICANN driven Root Server Network – whyever that might be – I just configured my local dns server to use Open Root Server Network as it’s source for the hint file. The ORSN is 100% compatible with the ICANN root server network and they don’t introduce new [gTLD][5].

So let’s see what the future brings and support a Root Server Network that is based in Europe.
